Manager of Training and Professional Development
Location: Covington/Burlington, KY campus
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in training or adult education preferred, degree in human services or related field with training experience may be considered. Equivalent knowledge and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience working in a behavioral health residential setting strongly preferred.
- Training and experience in using Safe Crisis Management or other physical restraint modality strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of training experience in a formal work environment preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and assess training content using a working knowledge of adult learning theory.
- Demonstrated understanding and use of Learning Management Systems, preferably with experience with Rise.com LMS.
- Demonstrated quick, concise, and clear communication.
- Possess a technical and analytical aptitude, and a creative acumen.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule conducting evening training and training one weekend day per month, as needed.

Position Summary:
This position assesses agency wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies, develops, and conducts suitable training solutions for employees, both live and virtual.
This position will facilitate and participate in New Employee Orientation (NEO), Stewards of Children, Sanctuary, and All Children All Families (ACAF) training for all staff and will participate in Safe Crisis Management (SCM), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Principles of Residential Treatment, Care-Logic use, and shift note documentation as well as other needed agency training.
In addition to developing, coordinating, and delivering training content for the above-referenced topics, the position also coordinates, and tracks training for all departments (including any training grants), when not conducting such training.
It is anticipated that the position will be actively engaged in the delivery of training content three to five days per week with other time devoted to assessing, coordinating, tracking, and developing training content as well as reviewing critical incident reports.
Essential Job Functions
- Creates, develops, and implements training curriculums for all new hires as well as on-going staff on the residential team.
- Works in conjunction with the hiring team to help onboard newly acquired team members and support required transitional learning.
- Reviews existing training programs to ensure that they are current, accurate, and effective and suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention to meet the changing needs of the organization.
- Support monetization of training department through collaboration with Business Development Department to allow outside community members to participate in internal trainings.
- Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry.
- Identifies problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve.
- Conducts annual training and development needs assessment.
- Assists with delivery of training of all staff regarding NEO, Sanctuary, ACAF, and Stewards of Children and conducts SCM, PBIS, Principles of Residential Treatment, CareLogic and shift note documentation, as well as other required and assigned topics or programs for the agency.
- Tracks all training requirements for completion and enters all evidence of training completion into the HRIS system and into other platforms or areas as needed.
- Requires flexible scheduling to provide training for employees some evenings and weekends.
- May require gaining certification in some programs including SCM and Stewards of Children.
- Attends all required trainings as assigned.
